The little purple flowers you are seeing are named crocuses - they are the first flowers to bloom each spring and I think that is why everyone loves them so much! Hope we all see more of them really soon!
i also love love love the first flowers of the spring. they are my reward for surviving another winter without freezing to death. and they let me know that good things are on their way. :)
